Serena + Joel - St. Als

Serena and Joel are from the west side of Washington. They decided to have their wedding at St. Als Church to commemorate where they met. Both Serena and Joel studied at Gonzaga University. Go Zags! They are both very kind hearted and welcoming. I can’t even tell you how many times during their wedding they checked in with me to see if I needed anything or made sure that I had eaten. Wow, dream couple! Serena is a nurse, and doesn’t that just make sense, I am sure that all of her patients absolutely adore her! Their wedding day started off at the Davenport Grand Hotel for getting ready photos of the girls. After that, I drove over to St. Als for the guys getting ready photos. Soon after the girls arrived at the church and we did a “first look” with Serena and her father.

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful. Serena and Joel opted for family photos in the church and wedding party photos outside of the church. After that, we did a couples portrait session around Gonzaga’s campus and of course wound up at the bulldog!

Everyone then drove over to their reception spot downtown at Riverside Place where they had unique entrances, cocktail hour, dinner, speeches, dances and more. As sunset approached, Serena and Joel snuck away for a little sunset session. They quickly returned to the party and danced for hours! Their family and friends hit the dance floor with them and didn’t take a break. I will be giving the best dancer award to Serena’s brother for creatively dance-mopping a spilled drink off of the floor.

Serena and Joel had a uniquely kind and genuine presence about them. Their friends and family had so many sweet things to say about them and I definitely have only great things to say about them as well. I wish them all the best and a long happy marriage!
